The lists of journalists are provided by their newspaper or broadcast station, as certified by the editor-in-chief, news director, or station manager.
This list covers not just the practitioners in print media but also those working with news and public affairs departments of TV and radio stations.
This is not a complete list of Cebu journalists. For instance, since FM radio stations don’t have news reporters, they are not in the list. Also, only those most directly involved in gathering, editing, preparing and commenting on the news make the list. Only in-house media workers are in the roll, which means blocktimers aren’t included. A freelance journalist may be included only if the news outlet lists him as a regular correspondent or contributor. Only news outlets that met the Aug. 31, 2013 submission deadline are represented here.
This list is distinct from that of the beneficiaries of the Cebu Media Medical Aid Fund program, as newsrooms’ support staff, for instance, whose names don’t appear here, are among the beneficiaries along with non-journalists like the spouses and children of journalists.
Multi-tasking journalists are listed under only one category. If an editor-columnist, for instance, is listed as an editor, he will no longer be listed as a columnist.
The lists are periodically updated, but CCPC is not responsible for inclusion or exclusion of persons that are not immediately relayed to it or cannot be immediately reflected in the website, or for errors in the uploading.
We appreciate the help of website visitors calling CCPC’s attention to any inaccuracy. What prevails in case of discrepancy is the word of the Human Resource Department, station manager, or editor in chief.
