Students who present student ID enter Museo Sugbo for free from Sept. 18-23

On the occasion of Cebu Press Freedom Week, celebrated on Sept. 16-23 this year, members of the general public, especially students and the media, are invited to visit the Cebu Journalism and Journalists (CJJ) Gallery at Museo Sugbo (the former Provincial Jail) on M.J. Cuenco Ave., Cebu City; and the CJJ Books Section, the section devoted to journalism books and other journalism-related materials in the Cebu City Public Library located at the ground floor of the Rizal Memorial Library & Museum building on Osmeña Blvd., Cebu City.

The CJJ Gallery and the CJJ Books are projects of the Cebu Citizens-Press Council aimed at improving media literacy.

As a special treat, students get to enter the Museo Sugbo from Sept. 18-23, 2017 for free, upon presentation of their student ID.

Aside from the CJJ Gallery, which chronicles the life and times of the Cebu press, the Museo Sugbo hosts 11 other galleries, among them galleries by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and the National Archives of the Philippines, galleries featuring Vicente Rama and Gregorio Abellana memorabilia, and the Therese Finnegan Collection of Rice Gods and Saints.
